Spring 2025 session registration is now open for all classes.

All classes are in-person and are held at my home studio located by the Ashby BART.

Class materials will be provided each week and and weekly video highlights will be accessible online. Class size will be limited to 8 people.

If you are new to the studio, you are welcome to come check out a class for free! And give me a call if you would like some help assessing your level.

Note: there will be no classes March 30th or May 25th. The final class of the session for all groups will be a friends and family gathering/sing-along on June 8th from 4-7pm.

Intro to guitar: will be offered again in Sept 2025!

Beginner 1 meets: Sundays from 5-6pm beginning March 9th and ending June 8th (now Full) If you know a tiny bit about guitar, a small handful of chords and songs, have taken a few lessons or an introductory class in the past, this is the class for you. In this class we will slowly build foundational skills for playing folk/rock guitar. We will work with basic major and minor chord shapes in the context of simple songs. We will work on musicality, rhythm, getting from chord to to chord, strumming, melodies, scales, tablature, finger-picking, theory and repertoire. This class will meet for 12 weeks. The cost of the class is $350.

Beginner 1/2 meets Thursdays 12pm - 1pm If you know a handful of chords and songs, have worked a little bit on strumming and finger picking and are starting to put it all together, this is the class for you. In this class we will continue to slowly build foundational skills for playing folk/rock guitar. We will work with basic major and minor chord shapes in the context of simple songs. We will work on musicality, rhythm, getting from chord to to chord, strumming, melodies, scales, tablature, finger-picking, theory and repertoire. This class is ongoing, please contact me if you would like to join.

Beginner 2 meets: (section 1) Sundays 7:30-8:30pm (Now full)starts April 6th or (section 2) Fridays 12:30-1:30pm starts April 11th. If you have been playing for a little while and aim to sing around the campfire this year, this is the class for you. In this class we will build security and confidence with foundational skills, and will peek into more advanced skills like bar chords. We will work with fairly simple and some more complex songs: rhythm, strumming, melodies, tablature, finger-picking, theory and lots of repertoire. Each week we will do a combination of review and new songs/ and skills. The class will meet for 9 sessions and the cost is $265.

Beginner 2/3 meets: (section 1) Sundays 6:15-7:15pm starts April 6th: this is a class that will draw materials form both beginner 2 and beginner 3 classes. The class will meet for 9 sessions and the cost is $265.

Beginner 3 meets: (section 1) Mondays 6:15pm starting April 7th (section 2) Mondays 7:30pm starting April 7th, (section 3) Fridays 3:30pm starting April 11th (now full), (section 4) Tuesdays 5:30-6:30pm starting April 8th: This is a class for folks who have worked on basic guitar skills for a while, but want to stay inspired and also be challenged with new ideas. In this class we will utilize all kids of chord shapes, bass runs, simple melodies, fills, and sometimes complex rhythms and finger picking to make your songs more dynamic. If you enjoy making music with other people in a relaxed setting, want to get a weekly work out, sing and stretch a bit, but still happy to consider yourself a beginner, this is the class for you. The class will meet for 9 sessions and the cost is $265.
